Posted by: | CommentsTamTam Flash torch is not just another torch used for finding your lost objects in the house, but is more than a torch as it not only light illuminates your way but lets you navigate routes via GPS facility. In case you are a globetrotter, and you are poor in remembering the routes, then this torch will be a nice gift for you. So, with this GPS torch you can discover your routes without the need of a guide and enjoy your personal tours playfully. The element of discovery makes one’s tour adventurous and exciting, but there are some people who love adventure and are afraid to undertake it as they are foreigners or they do not know much about the places they are in, for them devices like TamTam are things to treasure.
TamTam Flash torch is a pocket friendly nifty gadget concept designed by Designaffairs Studio that lets you feel at home even on foreign lands as you will be able to walk through the cities like the inhabitants. This intuitive method of navigation can be projected on any surface, so you need not worry even if you are standing amidst the road. Just switch on to make the zoomable navigation map on the path and follow it like a spy. So, I would say you to get lost and cherish the real fun of exploring different places. In order to use the map, you can turn the aperture and zoom in or out the map or just turn on the map mode. If you would have seen The 9 Volt Awesome Flash Lamp, you would say we don’t like that much after knowing about this TamTam light that offers dual functionality as a torch and a portable GPS device. I know many of us do not take out our GPS devices once we step out of the car, nor we use mobiles for locating places as the application being heavier makes out smartphone restart. So, this light becomes something very useful yet trendy, you won’t feel bad to carry this small device as its looks are also appealing. The only bad thing is that this is just a concept like the Multi-Light USB Memory Stick, we don’t know whether this TamTam concept will turn into a reality or not.

The Cool Leaf Series QWERTY Computer Keyboard Design
Posted by: | CommentsToday technology is soaring so high that it can even turn a mirror in a regular usable computer Keyboard, calculator and remote, and I am just astounded by such up coming creations like this one. Created by some Japanese company named Minebea Co Ltd in collaboration with Kazuo Kawasaki who is a professor at Osaka University, these devices series has been named as ‘Cool Leaf Series’. The main attraction over here is the keyboard of the cool leaf series which has been named “?-QWERTY”.
Cool Leaf is a blend of aesthetically killer and efficient working. The keyboard’s lighting device includes light guide plate type black lights has been done in such a way that if the device is switched off, it appears to be nothing but a piece of rectangular shaped mirror glass. It also contains force sensors as the whole unit is a touch type device and has been specially made into a half mirror-type film on a special acrylic board. As there is no gap between the keys, cleaning it is damn easy and there is no need to worry about the coming out of the keys.
The calculator of the Cool Leaf series has been named the “?-Calcs” and another remote control released with the named of “?-Remote” . Even their features are similar to the keyboards and these two works in same manner and look awesome too.
Minebea is really happy with their outstanding creation and wants to expand the Cool Leaf Series to communication devices, residential devices, medical devices and moreover, the company is considering adding a haptic device, an acceleration sensor, etc. I can just wish them luck and hope that the rest of their upcoming futuristic devices will be as good as these three.
You can see some awesome design & concepts like USB iPhone Keyboard Matias and Keystick Keyboard Design, which will really surprise you.

Xbox 360 RRoD Coffin for your Dearly Departed Console
Posted by: | CommentsWe already know that people can be kind of creative when it comes to a RRoD. Personally, I’d rather treat a dodo’ed 360 with the love and respect a precious family friend deserves. Sniff.
Designer Alexis Vanamois has stepped in with a solution to help fill the void . . . and by void, I mean coffin, and by coffin I mean . . . well, precisely that: we’re talking about a coffin here.
No, they’re not available for retail yet. But going on the speed at which these pictures have hit the global gaming community, I suspect they will be before long …

iPhone Games Roundup!
Posted by: | Comments
I haven’t had much of a chance to do proper gaming this week, but in between the busy moments, when I’ve had a chance to do something other than study or sleep, I found myself playing games on my iPod touch. These are the three games I played the most.
First is Canabalt, a game with one control; jump. You’re a man running across rooftops, and you tap the screen to jump over items or gaps between buildings, building up momentum as you go. It’s simple but addictive, with the rooftops randomised every time, so you can’t learn the level. It’s simple but elegant, and the 8-bit graphics and pounding techno score make this just that little bit more special. I would definitely reccomend it. Next up is Doodle Jump; a game which, as the name implies, looks like it’s been drawn on graph paper by a seven-year-old, but then again there’s a modicum of charm in that aesthetic. It’s another game about jumping, only this time you’re jumping up rather than sideways. You tilt the device to orient your jump to the next platform, and you can shoot a variety of monsters. There are a variety of springs, trampolines, helicopter hats and jetpacks which can give you a boost on the way. Of the three games, it’s probably the most addictive, albeit the easiest to play in short bursts. Finally, there’s Angry Birds. It’s a catapult game – you play as some sort of evil overlord figure, catapulting birds at edifices constructed by little green pig-heads. If you think that’s odd, you’re not the only one. You use your finger to ‘pull’ back the catapult, and let fly. There are various sorts of bird: some explode, some drop eggs, and so on. Some of the later levels require you to exercise strategy in which birds you fire where, which means this is probably the most ‘thinky’ of the games (although I use the word advisedly). They’re all great little games, worthy of your attention, and they cost pennies in the Apple iTunes store. Pennies! Well, cents if you’re American. For the amount of entertainment and diversion you get from them you can’t go wrong!
Demon’s Souls leads Atlus USA to huge gains
Posted by: | Comments
Thanks to strong performances by both their flagship and new intellectual properties, publisher Atlus USA has posted massive gains.
According to a Siliconera report, the North American wing of the Japanese firm made 378 million yen (approx $4.15 million) in operating profit for the first half of their financial year. That’s up a staggering 236.1% compared to the equivalent period last year.
The stats from the previous quarter are even more impressive. Here operating profits were up 578.5%, with Atlus USA racking up a cool 346 million yen ($3.81 million). Good showings for Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, and (relative) surprise-hit Demon’s Souls are being attributed to the success. 101-in-1 Party Megamix is being mentioned too, but we’re putting our fingers in our ears and pretending it’s the good games that bring the money in.
Carmack expects Rage on iPad, iPhone
Posted by: | Comments
Some form of id Software’s upcoming Rage property will appear on Apple’s soon-to-be-available iPad tablet computer, John Carmack told Kotaku at GDC — where he accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award — last week.
“Apple doesn’t give us anything ahead of time either, so haven’t put hands on it ourselves,” he said of the device. “But we certainly are expecting to try to have our Rage title for the iPhone, iPad, whatever, working across there.”
The Bethesda-published shooter is expected to arrive ’sometime in 2010′ for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. More news will likely arrive at E3 2010 in June, or QuakeCon 2010 which was just recently dated for August.
A Star Destroyer Wedding Cake for Geeks
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the most striking feature of the parties, that gets deposited into the memories of visitors is a Cake which always finds the center stage of every celebrations, yes… along with the celebrity of the party. But what makes it a striking feature? For many people, it is the size which impresses them while for some, the taste and quality etc matters and for very few – like us – the Theme of the cake is what that makes a statement.
Theme of the cake would mean and include anything that a cake would inspire. Speaking of inspiration, we have a cake whose idea seems to be derived from a Star Destroyer Spaceship, and hence titled ‘Star Destroyer Wedding Cake’. Oh! did we mention it was meant for Star Wars geeks weddings, at least this is what the maker of the cake says, or had in mind! Admire the picture below, that’s a cake.
Well, DebbiDoesCakes has impressed us very much and we just can’t wait to have a piece to taste, and we can’t help you from drooling over it. While it looks gorgeously delicious, it is also a perfect way to showcase Star Wars love to the public. So if you wanna make your party an event to remember for visitors or just want to impress with you Star Wars beliefs, you know what should occupy the grand stage in your party, or the wedding.
Without any doubt, it is a masterpiece but the minor details incorporated and worked out in the cake are just jaw-dropping. See for yourself, for even describing so many nuances of the ship seems beyond me, let alone the idea of making one. Truly praiseworthy. What do you say?
And as you might have guessed, it took a good deal of time for the maker to develop it. As he points out in the comments (follow the source given in the end in case you have hunger for more) it took 4 hours to come up with the structure alone. The V shape idea also came hard while it took 11 more hours to work out other details, which the creator humbly calls ‘a fraction’ of the real thing. Well, even the fraction leaves us stoned!

The Steampunk Style Mask: You Ready Stanley?
Posted by: | CommentsWe all know that Steampunk Art always comes up with imaginative crazy designs that one could hardly ever ideate and this time again it’s a mask depicting some excellent creativity; I wonder what would have happened if Stanley Ipkiss (The Mask) could use it instead of the original one? I bet the Mask would have been even cooler!
This weird Steampunk Mask was featured in Athens_Springer’s profile which may look horrifying to a few, awe-inspiring to people like me or it may even resemble the face of one the G.I.Joe’s, is made up from pure leather and brass; leather used for covering the face while brass is being used for forming the covering on the eyes & the mouth and also for the pinning the leather together. This hand made Steampunk mask can occupy your very own designer collection showcase or you can just use it in a Steamy halloween! Though Steampunk has been coming up with such amazing fictitious designs that renders one speechless, it would have been so much better if they also design something that is practically sound!

Crytek UK trademarks ‘Self Defense’
Posted by: | Comments
Crytek UK, formerly better known as Free Radical, have just recently filed a trademark registration for the name ‘Self Defense‘. Relative information is scarce at the moment, but the accompanying logo does appear somewhat indicative of a motion-based exercise and fitness game — which have seen quite the surge in popularity in recent years. Though at this early stage, for all we know it could be an ironic and energetic take on the classic scrolling beat-em-up formula.
Given the fact that we’re going to see motion controllers from Sony and Microsoft making their debut later this year; it seems probable that this could be penned as a first wave title for either Natal or Move.
Car Jack Streets is totally Grand Theft Auto
Posted by: | Comments
Part of this week’s Nintendo Download is Car Jack Streets. You can probably guess from the title what PS1 classic inspires this 800-point DSiWare title… but I thought I should verify your hypothesis.
It’s Grand Theft Auto. Car Jack Streets is the Single White Female version of the original top-down city. The game is also available in a non-dual-screen-edition on the iPhone App Store. YouTube trailer after the jump.
