The latest news is that the brainchild of a marine biologist/animator is now available as a very attractive cake in the shape, color and hilarious design of the one and only Spongebob Squarepants.

Debbie Goard refers to herself as a cake designer. I have to admit I did not know that there was such a thing as a cake designer. I’ve heard of dress designers, interior designers and the lot but never cake designers. Her portfolio is extremely versatile as is her work. The product itself that is the light of this review is the Spongebob Squarepants cake. Now the first thing that you think of when you hear Spongebob Squarepants is kids. But it’s not just the kids who love this character, I know quite a few people who enjoy watching this cartoon. So this cake right here would appeal to a very wide audience. And it’s not just any ordinary “out of the bakery” cake, it’s a work of art, so if you’re planning to throw a surprise birthday party for your 5 year old or simply get your friends a cake that they’d remember for the rest of their lives, get the Spongebob Squarepants cake.

If you ask me whether I wanted to have this cake for my birthday party, I’d say Hell yes but I wouldn’t want anyone to touch it or eat it. It’s just so visually pleasing and I’m sure it tastes great. Debbie does have a lot of fans who admire the way she goes about making cakes. So I’m sure the taste factor is as awesome as the way the cake looks. Even if spongebob square pants existed in real life he wouldn’t have envisioned himself a cool as the cake is. So I’m sure Debbie could send this cake to the creator of the series “Mr. Stephen Hillenburg” and he’d be glad that this action was done.

So whether you like the show, the characters, and the under-water humor or simply are an avid fan of good tasting cakes, this is the cake for you. It’s awesome, it’s sweet, it looks great and it’s simply put “a masterpiece”.

It is very rarely one comes across gadget, games, accessories, fun toys or for that matter any modern design created specifically for the blind people. Color Rubik Cube, which has color names embossed in Braille language, is a very sincere attempt by designer Konstantin Datz to create a feel of real rubik cube for the sake of people for whom world is only different shades of black. Runes of Magic has turned out to be a big success in the free-to-play MMO marketplace. Once I got word that this week would be full of birthday celebrations in-game I re-downloaded the client and logged back into my characters to see what had changed. To my surprise I found the game had finally gotten several little kinks ironed out and a bit of polishing had been done.

For starters the game still looks the same, but it definitely sounds better. Footsteps sound better, combat sounds better, and skills that were formerly performed in a vacuum and generated no sounds — things like gathering herbs, chopping wood, or chipping away at ore — now do so. Leveling up also has a nice little musical accompaniment as well.

I wasn’t able to spend too much time in-game before my old fantasy game malaise returned, but I have to admit if you want that World of Warcraft crafting, grinding, and questing type of game you could do a lot worse than Runes of Magic. It still shamelessly rips off of WOW, but as a free to play MMO that makes its money on microtransaction purchases of Diamonds to buy consumables and other things like mounts and house furnishings, it’s entirely optional whether to spend real money on the game or not.

Back when I plowed some serious time into it — Xfire tells me I’ve put in 131 hours including the two hours I put in earlier this week — I found the player base to be relatively helpful when I needed a hand in a pinch, but in the end it’s your friends that dictate whether you keep playing these kinds of games. But since it’s free and easy to start playing, getting friends to give it a try could be easier than you think.

Licensed racer F1 2010 is looking to pump a little glamour into the world of racing games.

Speaking to TVGB at the official F1 2010 reveal in London today, Codemasters’ Communications Manager Andy Gray shared some details on the game’s career mode, and enlightened us on the title’s sexy new direction.

While F1 2010 will feature all the in-car action you would expect, it will also enable you to “Live the Life” of an F1 driver. Now we’re pretty sure you can’t fit a Pussycat Doll into a standard-sized game case, so what exactly does that mean? Gray elaborated for us.

“‘Live the Life’ is everything that happens outside of the car,” he said. “It’s the bits outside the track; the glamour, the girls, the press - all that kind of things that have never really come across in a game before. That’s the aspect we’re trying to really integrate into F1 2010.”

Starting out at a lower or middle ranking team, the career mode will enable you to rise through the sport and enjoy/endure all of the pleasures and pressures that entails. Win a few races and suddenly you’ll be popular, with the media clamoring for your attention. Start struggling, however, and prepare for some awkward questions.

“So that moment where you get out of the car, and you’ve not qualified very well; all of a sudden you have a microphone thrust in your face and you’ll be asked why you didn’t do very well,” said Gray. “The press play a huge part. But you’ve also got your agent and your race engineers - actual characters you speak to in the game, and you have a proper rapport with. That’s what we’re looking to bring to F1 2010.”

Sounds intriguing. We’re still holding out for a Pussycat Doll though. Maybe in the Collector’s Edition.

F1 2010 is scheduled for a September release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Look out for our hands-on soon.

The ending of Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s single-player campaign left the doors wide open for a Bad Company 3. But instead of putting out another boxed product, could DICE alternatively continue the story through downloadable content? It’s a possibility, the developer says.

“We haven’t planned any DLC that comes with the actual story itself, but we won’t rule it out,” executive producer Karl-Magnus Troedsson told IGN.

“The good thing about having a post-launch campaign that we have — that we plan to take care of the product for a long time — is that we can be reactive to what people think,” he said. “But obviously, creating single-player missions is a much bigger thing than creating additional multiplayer maps.”

The DLC that has been announced — the free multiplayer additions revealed a day after Infinity Ward’s announcement of similar nature — is coming out later this month. It’s released on the same day as Modern Warfare 2’s add-on content. What does Troedsson say of this freak occurrence? “It’s a complete coincidence!” he declared, laughingly.

Our friend Timon has designed a real cool and fun Guitar using the Leg-Shield of the old ItalianVespa Scooters that were and are still known for their vibrant colors and fun style of moving around the city, making it the first globally successful scooter!

The Vespa has a Steel Pressed body that covered the engine which also served as the leg-shield for the pillion rider, and which now serves the purpose of being the Sound Box for the Cool and retro Vespa Guitar.

The Guitar is completely hand made and sports the custom Vespa parts while incorporating the other standard parts of a guitar like the fretboard and the neck. Timon here has demonstrated to us the intricate process of the fabrication and the final Birth of this guitar- The “VESP-CASTER” .

Word on the streets of Shanghai is that Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days has a release date and that date is August 24th, 2010.  The sequel moves our story forward several years and takes one of the two possible endings from the first game as canon.  Lynch decides to join up with Kane for one last big score in Shanghai, but of course, things get FUBARed and they have to fight their way out to survive.

While I love the story that was in Kane and Lynch: Dean Men, the bugs and broken multiplayer killed any sort of enjoyment that could be found in the game.  I like the new presentation style they are going with, like the grainy footage and shaky-cam, but I am still on the fence with this title.

Square Enix and developer IO Interactive have revealed the launch dates for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days; August 24 in North America and August 27 throughout Europe and other PAL territories.

The news comes with a rather racy new in-game trailer featuring the two misfits meeting up in Shanghai. “We think it’s going to make quite an impression,” IO GM Niels Jørgensen says of the game’s “unique visuals and relentless gameplay” on display there. Have a look at it below.
